10 Reasons You Should Consider Moving to Eugene

Buying Your Next Eugene Home

  1. Location, location, location: With some of the country’s most stunning scenery within less than a two-hour car ride in each direction, you can’t go wrong. We’re a quick drive away from the beautiful Pacific Ocean to the west and to the east, we have the breathtaking mountains and forests of the Cascade Range.
  2. We love our ducks! The world-renowned University of Oregon is located in Eugene. There are many educational programs and opportunities that come with the university.  Along with amazing sporting events to watch live from Autzen Stadium, Matthew Knight Arena, and Hayward Field.
  3. Typically mild weather is a plus. Yes, we do have our share of rain, but overall it’s not too hot and not too cold. Winter lows average in the 30s and in summer, our highest average is in the 80s making it an inviting place to spend lots of time outside all year long.
  4. Eugene is Track Town USA. We are home to some major nationally recognized track and field events that take place in our very own Hayward field. Those events include the Prefontaine Classic the Pac-12 championship and the Olympic trials, just to name a few.
  5. It’s easy to get out and get moving. Don’t worry if you’re not a runner you can still enjoy miles and miles of bike paths and trails for biking and walking. The most popular path along the Willamette River provides a loop over 14 miles and is easily accessed from multiple neighborhoods and areas of town.
  6. We have an abundance of outdoor recreation. Don’t want to limit your outdoor activity to running, walking or biking? There are several options for camping along with fishing or floating the Willamette or Mackenzie Rivers. You can always go for an easy hike up either of the Butte in town or go skiing in the surrounding mountains, you name the outdoor activity you find it in or near Eugene
  7. Amazing local wineries and breweries. Eugene has many outstanding tap houses and breweries that are clustered together making it easy to pub crawl through town. Or you can take a scenic drive to one of the many beautiful local wineries in the southern Willamette Valley.
  8. Lots of unique restaurants and food trucks. You can find some fantastic food options in Eugene from upscale French restaurants to vegan food trucks and everything in between.
  9. We’ve got the silicone shire. The Bay Area is home to Silicon Valley but did you know about Silicon Shire? It’s home to a vibrant and growing technology community here in Eugene.
